I started in WoW as a complete noob. It was my first MMO and I had no clue what I was doing. I 100% remember meleeing things with my staff. After awhile though I found my stride and I was heavily into raiding, then raid leading. I was either guild lead or officer of five guilds prior to Myth. In the end my real life became hectic around the release of Cata and I fell into a game style that allowed me to easily "brb" often. My goals are no longer personal progression or item level.
Maya Angelou said "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I hope, even those who eventually leave Myth on good terms or bad can look back and remember how they felt good once. How we reached out and how we cared. I try to personally touch base with as many members as I can. I know this can be hard to see with such a large roster but I am thankful for you all and glad to be of service. Sometimes I get stressed and rage and threaten to uninstall from the pressure but then someone says something along the lines of all those quotes on our testimonials page and I realize that somehow we are doing some good here. You fuckers had me at hello.
When I first started WoW I played completely alone. I didn't like grouping, talking, being around other people, and I certainly didn't want to be in a guild. While I did slightly venture out of my comfort zone to be in a guild, large guilds weren't territory I was willing to go near. I was quiet and having started later in the game, not as knowledgable as alot of players, the idea of being around so many people scared me to death. So I sat in my little guilds, with my small group of friends. Those guilds had a serious downside to an ach whore like myself though. My guild couldn't do much of anything. Raid achs, anything that took more than 3-4 people (who weren't geared), was out of my reach. I always wanted a guild with the feel that we had, but with more people and the ability to do everything the game had to offer. That brings us to Myth. Here someone like myself who has never been hardcore, doesn't have heroic raid gear, or hasn't been here since Vanilla, has the chance to experience all the aspects of the game without losing the small guild feel. What makes it different here is that no matter who you are, what you enjoy, how long you have played, you can come as you are and join us. Myth is more than a guild, we are a family. Families are made up of people with differing views and interests but meshed together to create a warm happy home. I feel that is what Myth is.

Myth is my home. I have found a place with others that share the same interest as I for collecting mounts and pets along with completing achievements and being rep whores. I have been able to make progression with the guild on raids and even made attempts in guild pvp groups. Myth gives me a place to do it all.
Currently, we do not have any members who are warforged or tier rank. We are not actively looking for members to apply for these ranks. However, if we believe someone within the guild would be suited for either rank we will approach you. Don't come to us, we will come to you.
Warforged and tier will be chosen for 4 month terms at a time. This will allow people to take guilt free breaks from wow for real life or to dive into solo play. Once promoted these ranked members will then receive a 30 day trial period to see if they are both serious and able. After the trial if a member is not up to the rank they were selected for they will be demoted to their original rank; there will be no hard feelings. For those who make it the entire 4 month "term" for their warfored or tier status, they are analyzed again if interested in staying ranked at the end of their term. Anyone who fell short of their priorities as warforged or tier for bulk period of time will be demoted to their original rank. Again there will be no hard feelings, no guilt for not remaining ranked. Our steady, never changing ranked members will be the council and guild leaders.
This system is designed to help with the "burnt out" issue that creates so many dead ranked members. It allows for ranked members to help when they want, but step down and be more casual when they need to. Having a set 3-5 ranked members who are largely inactive at time does not help. This rotation will greatly improve our guild.
What is expected of these ranks?
Contributor is the rank just below warforged. In our roster is it referred to as "Tier". This rank is for people who want to help often, a few times a month but not weekly or daily. Its a rank for raid leaders who although they want to raid, may not want what comes with warforged. For this rank you would be expected to do one of the following:
Post a weekly/ biweekly event
Farm in large amounts
Lead a group on a regular basis
Warforged is the same "rank" in game as council but with a different meaning.This rank is for people who want to take part in the weekly workings of our guild. Warforged does not have jobs, they have priorities. They should be helping the guild leaders make sure everything is "wrapped up" by Monday. They should also give advice and help when they can. They should be aware of our current progression, raid times, and raid leaders to answer questions on these matters.
